News From Babel were a musical group formed by Henry Cow bassoonist Lindsay Cooper with Chris Cutler and Dagmar Krause (vocals). Krause is a German singer best known for her interpretations of Bertolt Brecht/Kurt Weill and Hanns Eisler songs. In addition to News from Babel, she sang with Slapp Happy, Henry Cow, and Art Bears.

'Work Resumed on the Tower' was released in 1984, and features harp, horns, drums, bass, and Dagmar. The melodies here are very delicate yet there is a feeling of power as well. A follow-up album, 'Letters Home', came out in 1986.
